Got a call from a guy near the Simi Valley Dog Park who locked his only working smart key inside the cargo area of his 2011 Range Rover Sport. First thing I did was gain entry. Then I pulled out a fresh KOBJTF10A fob, cut the HU101 emergency blade to match his lock, and connected my JLR-compatible diagnostic tool to the OBD port. The KVM on these L320s runs the 5WY8417 module, and programming means syncing the new key's Hitag2 transponder to the immobilizer, then registering the remote functions. Whole process, maybe 35 minutes.
He tested every button. Lock, unlock, tailgate, panic, the two-press remote start. Walked around the car twice checking passive entry at each door handle. Then he just said, "That's it?"
That's it. Two working smart keys, both synced, his original retrieved from the cargo area. Done on site for a fraction of what the dealer quoted.
