Got a call from a woman over in the Bridle Path neighborhood in Simi Valley. She had a 1998 Mazda 626 LX sitting in her driveway, one key left, and it was barely turning the ignition anymore. She had to jiggle it, hold it at an angle, and sometimes just sit there working it back and forth for a minute before the cylinder would rotate.

I read the wafer depths directly from the cylinder instead, then cut a fresh MZ31 blank to the factory depths on my Condor.
First insert, smooth turn, engine fired right up. Then I tested the doors and the trunk. All clean.
The whole thing took maybe 25 minutes. She had been looking into getting the ignition cylinder replaced at the dealer, which would have meant a tow plus parts plus labor plus waiting on their schedule. Instead she watched me do it in her driveway for a fraction of what they wanted.
