2000 Mazda B-Series Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a woman up in the Hillsides area of Ventura on a weeknight. She had finished a closing shift at a pharmacy and realized somewhere between the store and the parking lot she had lost her only key to her 2000 Mazda B-Series. Dark lot, tired, and she had nothing: no spare, no registration on her, couldn't remember what a VIN was.
I walked her through it on the phone. Told her to shine her phone flashlight at the lower left corner of the windshield, right at the base of the glass on the driver's side. She found the VIN. Pulled up her insurance app and the registration was right there. That was all I needed.
I prepped the right key blank before I left. When I got there she was sitting on the tailgate just waiting, still a little shaky. I ran the all-keys-lost procedure through the OBD port with my diagnostic tool, cut the blade to the vehicle, built out the replacement fob, and tested every function before I packed up. She had two working keys by the time I left.
The dealer was closed. Even if they weren't, she would have needed a tow to get the truck there, and then waited days. She drove home that night for a fraction of what that path would have cost. The VIN, by the way, is the single most useful thing you can give me before I arrive. Text it ahead and I show up already prepped.
