Got a call from a guy over in Skofield Park in Santa Barbara. He had a 2007 G-Class sitting in his driveway with zero working keys. One lost, the other stopped turning in the ignition months ago and he had been putting off dealing with it.

I showed up with everything. Got into the G-Class without any damage, decoded the HU64 lock, and cut a fresh key on the portable machine right on his driveway. Then I plugged into the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure through the EIS. NEC chip handshake, key learn, IR verification. The whole sequence took some patience because the W463 EIS can be slow to respond on an older battery, but it accepted the new key clean.
Programmed a second key while I was there. Tested ignition, tested all four remote buttons, cycled the locks. He just stood with his arms crossed watching, like he was waiting for something to go wrong.
Nothing went wrong. He drove it around the block and came back nodding. No tow truck, no days at the dealer, no EIS replacement. Just a guy back in his truck for a fraction of what they wanted.
