2010 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Got a call from a guy up in the Upper State Street corridor in Santa Barbara. He had a 2010 G550 sitting in his driveway, one working key left, and the remote buttons had stopped responding two days earlier. He was still starting it with the blade in the EIS, turning it like an old-school ignition, but the remote lock and unlock were gone.

Then I connected through the OBD port, read his EIS, and wrote the new key's NEC chip to his system. Registered the transponder, synced the four-button remote, erased nothing from his existing key so he kept it as a spare.

The whole thing took about 35 minutes. He stood there watching me test all four buttons and cycle the ignition twice. When it all worked, he just nodded and said, "That's it?" That was it.

He kept his old key as a backup. Saved a good chunk over the dealer route and didn't lose his car for a week.
