Got a call from a guy over in the Windsor North neighborhood in Oxnard. His 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class had one working key left, and the panic button on it was stuck halfway in. I had the IYZ-3312 blank on the van. Pulled up, verified his VIN, read the EIS data off the W164's module through OBD, and got the key profile. Cut the new HU64 blade on site. The programming side on these is an EIS read and write, syncing the new key's transponder data into the NEC chip on the module. Whole thing ran about 25 minutes.
Tested both keys, all four buttons, ignition start, and the infrared path from the key head to the EIS receiver. Everything clean. He held both keys like he was comparing them, flipping them over, clicking the locks back and forth. Then he just said, "That's it?"
That is it. One trip, one visit, done in his driveway for a fraction of what they wanted.
