I pulled immobilizer data with the ACDP as a safety backup first, then ran the AKL procedure through OBD. His replacement smart key was the HYQ14AHC, 4-button proximity fob, part number 88835-AL04A.
Car started. He just sat in the driver seat for a few seconds holding the steering wheel like he was making sure it was real.
Tested all four buttons, lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Checked passive entry on both doors. Verified push-button start from cold. Everything talked to everything.
He drove home that afternoon instead of waiting a week for a dealer appointment. Smart key AKL is not dealer-only. It is tool-dependent.
