2008 Dodge Durango Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He found me through a neighbor in Downtown La Mesa. Tattoo artist, worked out of his apartment building's breezeway when he had morning appointments. The 2008 Durango was his work truck, basically, tools and gear in the back every day.

The shell on his remote head key had split along the top edge where the blade pivot sits. Two pieces, held together by the lanyard ring. He'd wrapped electrical tape around it to keep the battery from falling out. It still started the truck, still locked and unlocked, barely. He went to the dealer before calling me. Then I pulled the electronics out of the cracked housing, transferred the board and chip into the fresh shell, and fitted a blade cut to the decode. The whole thing went back together clean. No programming needed because nothing changed electronically. I walked every button and checked the remote range before I packed up.

He saved a serious amount compared to what the dealer quoted him. The parts that actually do the work were never broken.
