2015 Dodge Durango
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2015 Dodge Durango Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in the Seacoast area of Imperial Beach, a pest control company owner called me about his fleet. Three 2015 Dodge Durangos, all work vehicles, all sharing keys between drivers because spares had walked off over the months. Every morning was a parking lot shuffle while his crew figured out which fob belonged to which truck before routes could start.

He called the dealer first. They quoted him a number per key, times three, and told him each vehicle needed to come in on a separate visit. That meant three separate half-days, or worse, three tows if a driver locked themselves out in the field. He did the math and called me instead.

I pulled into his company yard before his crew finished their morning briefing. The Durangos were lined up and running on borrowed time with mixed-up keys. I went truck by truck, using my diagnostic equipment through the OBD port to register a fresh dedicated fob to each vehicle. Each one cut to the vehicle, each one tested through all five buttons, passive entry, and ignition start before I moved to the next.

The part that stuck with me was watching him walk down the line and hand each driver their own dedicated fob for the first time. No ceremony, just a quick "this one's yours" and back to loading up for the day.

Three vehicles, one visit, done before the first route left the yard. He saved a significant chunk compared to what the dealer quoted, and he got it done without losing a single work morning to a service appointment.
