A night school student at the community college lot in San Marcos had been fighting his 2004 Honda Pilot ignition for weeks. So I used my ACDP bench tool to back up the immobilizer data, then decoded the existing lock, replaced the worn wafers, and cut a fresh key that matched the repaired cylinder. His separate remote fob, FCC ID , paired right back up. I showed him the old wafers so he could see the wear, and he couldn't believe the dealer wanted to replace the whole thing.
His total was $123. The ignition works smooth again, the key turns clean, and he didn't replace a single part that wasn't actually broken.
