2001 Hyundai Elantra Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy in Downtown Fallbrook, parked near the shops on Main Avenue. He had a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and his remote head key had snapped at the base of the blade, right where the plastic housing meets the metal.

Then came the part that trips people up on this generation: getting the transponder chip in the new key enrolled to the immobilizer. On a 2001, there is an onboard procedure that doesn't require me to plug into the OBD port, which is one of the things that makes this era easier to work on than people expect. Got it done on site, in the parking lot, no tow truck, no dealer wait.
