Got a call from a guy parked near the community center in Old Escondido. He had already paid another locksmith to replace his 2002 Hyundai Elantra key, and the car still would not stay running. It would crank, fire for a second or two, then die. Every time.

I decoded the blade, confirmed the cut was correct, then connected through the OBD port, cleared out the incomplete key data, and ran the registration from scratch with the full timed sequence. I watched the tool confirm permanent storage before I did anything else. Then I handed him the key and had him start it himself, four times in a row, so he could feel the difference.

He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him to tow and fix it. My number was a fraction of that, even coming in after someone else had already taken a shot at it.
