2020 Hyundai Elantra Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Bressi Ranch, a driver called me after his 2020 Elantra key snapped. Half the blade was stuck in the ignition cylinder, the other half was in his hand.
He had already called another locksmith who quoted him for a full ignition replacement over the phone without even seeing the car. New cylinder, new keys, the whole thing. He called me for a second opinion before agreeing to any of that.
When I got there, the fragment was in cleanly. No side damage, no bent wafers, just a clean break right at the shoulder. I extracted the broken piece without disturbing the wafers, then decoded the lock from the wafer positions while I had clear access. Cut a fresh blade to match, programmed the transponder through the OBD port, tested every function, and left. The original cylinder stayed in the car exactly as it was.
The other locksmith had never looked at it. He was already planning to replace something that did not need replacing. His quote was more than double what the owner paid me.
That is the difference between a phone diagnosis and an actual look at the problem.
