2004 Hyundai Elantra Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call out of Fletcher Hills on a Tuesday afternoon. Guy said his 2004 Elantra would start, but the remote had been getting flaky for weeks and finally just stopped responding entirely. Locks, trunk, nothing. He was doing everything by hand with the key blade, which works, but it gets old fast.
He'd found me through YouTube. Said he watched a key job on a similar-era Hyundai and figured if I could film the whole thing without cutting anything out, I probably wasn't hiding anything. That kind of trust means something to me.
When I got there, I popped the back off the fob and the CR2032 inside looked like it had been in there since the car was new. Battery was reading almost flat. Swapped it out on the spot, and the range came back partially, but the lock button was still inconsistent. The contacts inside the shell had oxidized and one of the rubber button pads had started to separate from the board.
At that point, the smarter move was a fresh remote rather than chasing a worn-out one. I programmed the replacement on site, tested every button from across the parking area, and confirmed the trunk release was clean too. He had a working remote again in under an hour, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait time of several days just to get an appointment.
No appointment needed here. I came to him.
