Out in South Poway, a guy managing an avocado grove called me about his 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He had one working key, it was worn down to the point where the blade was giving him grief in the ignition, and he needed a backup before harvest season made losing a key a real emergency.

The dealer comparison came up on its own when he said what they had quoted him, and my number was a fraction of that. But honestly, for him, the bigger deal was never having to leave the grove at all.
