2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in South Poway, a guy managing an avocado grove called me about his 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He had one working key, it was worn down to the point where the blade was giving him grief in the ignition, and he needed a backup before harvest season made losing a key a real emergency.
He had already called the dealer. They told him to bring the Jeep in and plan for a full day, possibly longer if the fob needed to be ordered by VIN. For a ranch vehicle that was moving people and equipment every morning, a full-day pull off the property was not a realistic option.
He found me and asked whether I covered his area. I told him South Poway is no problem.
I drove out, set up on the property near the equipment barn, and got to work. His Grand Cherokee is on the WK2 generation, which is one of the cleaner jobs in my bag. The tool read the security PIN over OBD, I registered a fresh fob and cut a new blade to match his original, and we tested everything at the property gate before I packed up. Lock, unlock, remote start check, ignition cycle. All good.
Two working keys. He was back at his truck and I was back on Scripps Poway Parkway before lunch.
The dealer comparison came up on its own when he said what they had quoted him, and my number was a fraction of that. But honestly, for him, the bigger deal was never having to leave the grove at all.
