2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in Ramona Highlands, I got a call from a woman who managed an HOA and ran her 2014 Grand Cherokee as her personal workhorse between properties. She also had two HOA maintenance vehicles under her budget. All three needed spare keys, and she'd already called the dealer.

The quote she got back stopped her cold. Three keys across three vehicles, and the dealer's number per key made it a budget line item that had no chance of passing the HOA board. On top of that, surrendering even one vehicle to a dealer service lane for a day wasn't something she could do. Those trucks were scheduled.

She found me, called, confirmed I could handle all three in a single visit, and we set it up for late afternoon at the HOA office.

I backed up the relevant module data before starting the multi-key session. That's not a step I skip when I'm programming more than two keys in a row on the same vehicle platform, because if something hiccups on the third or fourth learn, I want a clean recovery point rather than a car with half-committed key memory.

Her Grand Cherokee's fob, the 5-button unit with the factory FCC ID on it, programmed cleanly. The two maintenance vehicles followed. Every key tested, every button confirmed, every vehicle locked and unlocked and started before I closed the case.

She handled two tenant phone calls during the job. Neither truck left the property. The dealer comparison barely came up because she was already back on her phone before I finished labeling the spares.
