First, swap the CR1632. A battery that measures okay on a meter can still drop under load and cause exactly this: works in the morning, acts up in the afternoon, fine again the next day.

If a fresh battery does not fix it, the issue could be with the antenna loop inside the cabin that reads the fob, or a contact or wiring issue in the start button assembly itself. These cars have multiple interior antennas that feed the smart key receiver, and a fault in one zone can make the system inconsistent without killing it entirely.

If the fob reads fine when held directly against the start button but fails when it is in your pocket or bag, that points more toward antenna range than the fob itself. That is a diagnosis job, not just a battery swap.
