2004 Nissan Altima Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I work out of a van. You send me a pin, I show up there. Parking lot, driveway, side of a road -- it does not matter to me.
A sales rep in Downtown Lemon Grove dropped his only key somewhere between his car and a client meeting. He retraced every step. Nothing. By the time he texted me, he had already been standing next to his 2004 Altima for 45 minutes in the afternoon heat with nowhere to be except stuck.
He sent me his location and I was already loaded for this car. I decoded the lock cylinder to get the correct cut, then used my diagnostic equipment to pull what I needed from the vehicle and register a fresh transponder key to it. No tow. No dealer wait. The whole job happened in that parking lot while he sat in the shade.
The moment the engine turned over and held -- did not stall, did not hesitate -- he let out a long breath. That is the moment I watch for every time on these. A key that cranks and cuts out means the chip did not register. A key that starts and stays running means the job is done.
He mentioned afterward that the dealer had quoted him a wait of a day or two plus a tow fee because the car was not drivable. He saved a good chunk just by calling a mobile locksmith first.
