2024 Nissan Altima Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A home inspector working out of Carmel Mountain Ranch called me on a Monday morning. His 2024 Altima was sitting in an apartment carport and he had a full week of inspections scheduled. He needed a replacement Intelligent Key and had already called the dealer first.
They told him Wednesday at the earliest. Then he would need to arrange a tow since you cannot exactly drive in without a working key. He was self-employed, same as me, and he understood immediately what two days of canceled appointments actually costs.
I was there Monday afternoon.
He watched me work from the shade near the carport. I connected my programming tool to the OBD port, ran the Nissan Intelligent Key sequence, and enrolled the new fob to the car's immobilizer. Cut the key blade to the vehicle, tested everything -- lock, unlock, the push-button start, the whole sequence.
The part that got him was how fast it went. He had been mentally writing off the rest of the week.
He saved a good chunk compared to the dealer quote, but I think what he was really paying for was Monday instead of Wednesday. When your income depends on showing up, that gap is not a minor inconvenience. It is the whole thing.
