I brought my ACDP bench tool as backup. I recovered through OBD by stabilizing the battery with my jump pack, then clearing fault codes with my IM608 before starting a clean programming sequence. His smart key, FCC ID , was a 3-button proximity fob. The fault cleared once the module reset, and the new fob learned on the first attempt.
Total was about an hour and a half. His bill was $103. The alternative was a flatbed to the dealer, a multi-day wait, and $261 or more.
