2016 Acura TLX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A traveling consultant staying at an Airbnb off Coast Village Road in Montecito called me one evening. She'd locked her only 2016 TLX smart key inside the car. The TLX requires a seed/key handshake through the Body Control Module before it'll accept a new smart key, so there's a timed exchange you just have to wait through.
Cut the emergency blade on my machine in the van, programmed the proximity and remote start functions, then walked the full test: door handle touch lock and unlock on both sides, push-button start, trunk release, remote start from 30 feet out.
Twenty-some minutes, start to finish. She thanked me twice and said she'd been dreading the idea of changing her flight. She didn't have to. The whole thing happened right there in the driveway for a fraction of what the dealer quoted her, and two days sooner.
