Got called out to Windsor North neighborhood for a 2022 TLX that wouldn't recognize either smart key. Owner tried both fobs, changed batteries, nothing.
When I plugged in, the BCM showed the TSB 21-063 condition: keys registered fine but the wireless receiver wasn't waking up. Common issue on 2021-2022 TLX models. The fix needs a BCM reflash through MVCI, which takes about 12 minutes once connected.
While the update ran, she mentioned the dealer quoted a two-day wait just for diagnosis. They'd need to order the update from corporate, another day minimum.
The reflash finished, both KR5995364 fobs came back online immediately. No new keys needed, no parts replaced. Just the right software patch applied on the spot.
She asked about the backup method while I packed up. Simple: dead fob against the start button works every time. The chip inside doesn't need battery power for emergency starts, just proximity. Showed her the exact spot to hold it.
