She'd landed late at LAX, took a shuttle to long-term parking, and by the time she reached the car it was past midnight. The fob did nothing. No door unlock, no response from the handle, nothing on the dash when she pressed start.

The issue was exactly what it looked like: a dead CR2032 that had taken the fob's ability to wake the push-button system with it. Swapped the battery, cleared the communication fault the system had logged, walked every button on both fobs, confirmed the door handles were reading the fob correctly for touch unlock. Done.
She made it home before sunrise. Skipped the Thursday appointment, skipped the tow, saved a good chunk of what the dealer route would have cost her. The only thing she said she wished she'd done differently was keep that backup blade somewhere she could actually reach it.
