Got a call from a guy near St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. His 2012 BMW X6, the E71 xDrive35i, all keys gone. His wife had the only fob and it went through the wash in a jacket pocket. The comfort access stopped responding, then the key quit entirely. He tried drying it out in rice for two days. By the time he called me, the car was parked at the hospital lot and his family needed it back.
I drove out with my Yanhua ACDP and the full CAS3+ cable set. The ACDP reads the CAS3+ board through the ISN connector without desoldering, which matters because one lifted pad on that board and you own a very expensive paperweight.
First thing I did was pull the full EEPROM backup and the FAFP data from the CAS3+ module. Saved it to two separate drives. That backup is everything. If the write corrupts, you restore and start over instead of bricking the module.
Ran the ISN extraction from the DME, matched it against the CAS3+ data, generated the new key profile, and wrote it back. His replacement was an OEM-style KR55WK49147 smart key, four buttons with the comfort access function. The CAS3+ to DME sync completed first try.
He was quiet for a second, then just said, "I really thought this was going to be a tow and a week at the dealer." It was not.
