2011 Honda Element Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over near Cemetery Memorial Park in Ventura, I got a call from a woman who needed a spare key for her 2011 Honda Element. Before she even told me what car it was, she read my BSIS license number back to me. LCO 6792. She had looked it up on the Bureau's website.
Turns out her last locksmith gave her a receipt with no company name, no license number, and a phone number that was disconnected a week later. She wasn't doing that again.
I pulled up to her Element and got to work. The 2011 runs Honda's older immobilizer with an ID46 Hitag2 transponder, no remote head, no push-button start. Just a blade key with a chip. I used my ACDP module to read the Keihin ECU data through the OBD-II port, pulled the immobilizer codes through the NASTF factory security database, cut the HO03 blade on my Condor, and programmed the new transponder.
Whole thing took about 25 minutes. Key turned, engine fired, immobilizer light on the dash went out like it should.
She checked the receipt before I even handed it over. Company name, license number, phone number, van number. All there. She said that mattered more to her than the price, and the price was a fraction of what the dealer quoted her over the phone. Both things can be true at the same time.
