2025 Lexus RZ Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy over in Woodcreek, Camarillo. He had found me on YouTube before he ever needed a locksmith, watched a Lexus smart key job, saved my number, and months later he actually needed it.
His 2025 Lexus RZ fob had been losing range gradually. At first he thought it was the parking garage at work messing with the signal. Then it started happening in his own driveway. By the time he called, the door handles were inconsistent and the dash was throwing a key-not-detected warning on cold mornings. He had already swapped the battery himself, which was the right first move, but the problem came back.
When I got there, I tested the existing fob before touching anything. The fob was reading on the start button when held close, which told me the chip was still communicating, but active range was short. I went through the battery contacts in the fob housing, found a small amount of corrosion on one terminal, cleaned it, and reseated a fresh CR2032. Tested range from across the car. Still marginal on the driver door handle.
That told me it was the fob, not the vehicle side. I programmed a replacement fob on site, walked every door handle, confirmed touch-unlock on both front doors, and ran the start sequence three times before I packed up.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait time plus programming labor. He was already back inside before I had finished writing up the invoice. No dispatchers, no call center. Same guy from the videos, at your car.
