Over near Tomol Interpretive Play Area in Carpinteria, a guy had his 2012 Cayman parked at his garage next to two other Porsches. He needed a spare smart key. He had already called the Porsche dealer, and they told him the key had to be ordered by VIN, cut in Germany, shipped back, and then programmed through PIWIS with a live connection to Porsche AG servers. I accessed the immobilizer data through OBD, pulled the security info from the KESSY, and generated a matching Hitag2 transponder profile onto a blank using my VVDI key tool. Programmed the remote side, cut the key blade to match, and tested every function right there in his garage. Passive entry on both doors, trunk release, lock, unlock, start.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes. He stood there watching, arms crossed, like he was waiting for something to go wrong. Nothing did. He just nodded and said he would be calling me for the other two.
