2015 Porsche Cayman Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A Euro performance shop in the Via Real Corridor called me on a job that had already gone sideways before I showed up.
A previous locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost procedure on a customer's 2015 Cayman. Somewhere in the middle of reading the keyless entry and start module, the process failed. Power interruption, wrong adapter sequence, skipped backup step. Whatever the cause, the module locked. The car would not recognize any fob. Not the original. Not a new one. Nothing.
The shop had the car sitting in their bay unable to move it, and the customer was watching the clock. They called me as a last resort before authorizing a dealer tow.
I brought my bench equipment. The recovery meant reading the module's memory directly, which involves soldering to test points on the board, not a plug-and-play situation. I extracted the stored security data, generated a fresh key file, wrote it to a new fob matching the factory spec for that car, reinstalled the module, and cleared the fault codes.
Then the moment of truth: I walked up to the car with the new fob, the dash came alive, and it started. The shop lead let out a breath he'd been holding for two hours.
Total time was about two and a half hours. The alternative was a flatbed to the dealer with no guarantee of a quick turnaround. I walked the shop team through what went wrong in the original attempt so they'd know what to watch for if a locksmith ever made the same call on one of their customers again.
I carry the bench tools specifically because jobs like that exist.

“Excellent, very reasonable and convenient service for my BMW key. Highly recommended.”
“My car key fob stopped working and my manual unlock key wasn’t working either (thanks to the brilliant engineering of Landrover). They showed up in 15 minutes and got into the car in under 60 seconds, definitely would recommend.”
“Fast affordable and very nice gentleman. The tech Marco came to help us late night and was very professional!”
