A barber in Camarillo, right near Conejo Mountain Open Space, called me on a Saturday morning. He was already burned. Another locksmith had come out, charged him full price for a 2019 Ram 1500 fob, and left when it didn't work right. The truck would crank for about two seconds, then the immobilizer cut fuel. I connected through OBD with my IM608, cleared the failed key data, pulled the PIN fresh from the WIN module, and ran a clean fob learn with the full security timer. No shortcuts. His OHT-4882056 came back with all six buttons working and a solid start, no two-second cutoff. I showed him the confirmation screen on my tool so he could see the fob registered and written.
He had already paid somebody else for a job that was never finished. I just made sure this one was done right, on site, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
