2020 Ram 1500
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2020 Ram 1500 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

All-keys-lost on a push-button Ram is the call that tends to come in at the worst possible time. No ignition slot to fall back on, no mechanical twist to try. The truck will not wake up without a programmed fob that its RF hub recognizes wirelessly. When there are zero fobs, it just sits there looking fine and going nowhere.

I got a call from a Woodcreek resident in Camarillo on a Sunday afternoon. He had been at a family thing the night before, somewhere across town, and somewhere between leaving and getting home the fob was gone. Not in the house, not in the car, not in any jacket pocket. Just gone. He had already called the Ram dealer that morning. They told him Monday at the earliest, possibly Tuesday depending on parts, and the quote made him wince.

I was at his house within the hour. The truck was sitting in the driveway, completely locked out, no key detected.

All-keys-lost on this generation requires proper diagnostic access and gateway handling before any new fob can be registered. I worked through the process methodically -- addressing the security system, wiping the lost fob from the vehicle's memory so it could never be used to start the truck again, and registering the new six-button proximity fob. Then I walked every button, tested the door handles, confirmed the start button recognized the fob from a normal pocket distance, and locked up clean.

He was back in the truck before the afternoon was over. The dealer quote was not even close to what he paid me, and he did not lose two days waiting for a parts order. That is the whole point of mobile work.
