A guy called from the Camarillo Premium Outlets parking lot. His 2021 Ram 1500 wouldn't see his only fob anymore. Remote start worked, doors unlocked, but the truck kept saying "Key Fob Not Detected" when he tried to start it.

I showed up with my Autel IM608 and ran a quick scan. The RF Hub wasn't communicating right. These 4th gen Rams have this known issue where the 68474836AC hub starts dropping signal to the push-button start but still talks to the remote receiver. I've seen it enough times that I keep replacement hubs in stock.
Pulled the center console trim, swapped the hub, ran the Security Gateway unlock through OBD. His OHT-4882056 fob paired right up. Whole thing took maybe 30 minutes in the parking lot while shoppers walked by with their bags.
The dealer would've kept his truck for days, charged way more than what I did, and probably would've tried to sell him a new fob first before checking the hub. He drove away same day, saved a good chunk, and learned what that little module behind his console does.
