A guy from Oxnard Shores called me on a Tuesday morning. He had one fob for his 2022 Crosstrek and had been meaning to get a spare cut for months. Then his fob stopped locking the doors from more than a few feet away, the touch sensor on the driver handle got inconsistent, and one morning the start button just sat there blinking at him.

It was a CR2032 from a discount bin, and the voltage was already marginal out of the package. Swapped it for a fresh one, reseated both contacts, and the range came back to normal. Door handle touch unlock started responding again.
He still wanted that spare made while I was standing there, which was the smart move. Programmed a second fob to the car on site, verified both fobs on every function, and he had a backup for the first time since he bought the car.
The whole stop was under an hour. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a wait of several days just for the part to arrive before they'd even schedule programming. He laughed about it.
