2014 Lexus RX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I'm already in Rancho Santa Fe with Lexus smart key shells, TOY43 blades, 4D and 8A transponder chips, emergency blade inserts, and CR1632 batteries loaded in the van right now. I don't order parts when you call. Everything for your 2014 Lexus RX is in labeled drawers behind my seat.

A couple at the theater near The Bridges on a Saturday evening came out and their Lexus wouldn't respond to the fob. Dead battery in the key. They figured they'd leave the car and handle it Monday. Then one of them searched "Lexus locksmith" and found me.

I was 12 minutes away and I had the right fob shell for their Smart Key already in stock. Their remote, FCC ID HYQ14ACX, was a 4-button fob that needed a fresh CR1632 battery and a resync using my VVDI Key Tool. The fob came back online and push-to-start responded on the first press.

They drove home Saturday night. Total was $329. Dealer would have been $602 plus waiting until Monday. When everything is stocked, a call at 9pm on a Saturday is the same as 9am on a Tuesday.

The actual programming at the dealer takes about an hour in the service bay. But the real wait is getting to that point. Lexus owners of 2023 and 2024 RX and NX models report waiting three to six months just for the physical fob to be allocated under the Lexus second key program, then another two weeks to get a programming appointment.
