I used my VVDI2 to read the transponder data from the cracked fob's chip, which was still intact inside the broken housing. That saved time because I could skip a full immobilizer reset. I extracted the blade fragment, decoded the lock, and cut two fresh keys. Her fob, FCC ID HYQ14FLB, was a 4-button smart key rebuilt into a new shell with the salvaged chip and board. I showed her the chip from the cracked key so she could see it was still good.
She went from zero keys to two in about 45 minutes. Total was around $306. A full AKL would cost more, and the dealer wanted $568 either way. If you have the broken fob, bring it.
