A dentist over in Freedom Park in Camarillo called me between patients. His 2006 DTS key had cracked right at the blade shoulder where the plastic head meets the metal, and the remaining blade was flexing every time he turned the ignition. One more twist and it was going to snap off inside the lock cylinder.

I drove out to his office parking lot. Used my Lishi GM Z keyway tool to decode the wafers through the driver door, confirmed the cuts, and cut a fresh B111-PT blade on my mobile machine. Then I programmed the PK3+ transponder through the OBD-II port using the 10-minute security access window the Body Control Module requires. The BCM on these W-platform cars runs a timed learn cycle before it accepts a new key ID, so you sit and wait while it counts down. No shortcut.
Built and tested two working keys in about 35 minutes. He walked out after his last patient, turned the ignition, and just nodded. Car never left the spot. He never left the building.
