Got a call from a woman over by the Camarillo Library. Her 2009 Cadillac DTS had one key left and the bow was cracking right at the plastic seam where the transponder chip sits. She had been holding it together with electrical tape for weeks and finally the chip stopped reading. DIC flashed "Service Theft Deterrent System" and the car just cranked, no start.

She had already called the Cadillac dealer. They told her to tow it in because without a working transponder they could not verify ownership over the phone and book a mobile appointment. Tow plus the key plus the wait time for a certified tech on the schedule.

I pulled up next to her in the library lot. Opened the old key head and confirmed the PK3+ chip had physically shifted off its antenna contact point inside the cracked housing. That chip was done.

Cut a new B111 blade on my Condor, cloned the PK3+ transponder using my VVDI, and registered the fresh ID 13 chip to her BCM through the OBD-II port under the dash. Ten-minute security relearn cycle ran while we talked about nothing in particular. She kept glancing at the DIC waiting for the theft message to come back. It never did.

Tested the start, cycled the ignition three times to make sure the relearn stuck, handed her two working keys. She drove home on her lunch break, no tow truck involved.
