Got a call from someone near Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme. She had a 1997 Chrysler Cirrus LXi parked in a lot and the key had snapped off at the bow, right where the plastic head meets the blade. The broken bit was still in the ignition cylinder.

The 97 Cirrus runs a standard mechanical lock with no transponder and no immobilizer, so this was purely about cutting a clean new blade.
I decoded the wafers, cut a fresh key on the Y159 blank right there in my van, and tested it in the ignition, driver door, and trunk. Everything turned smooth.
The whole thing took maybe 25 minutes from the time I parked. No tow, no waiting room, no parts order. Just a new key cut on site for a fraction of what the tow alone would have cost heading to a dealership.
