1999 Chrysler Cirrus Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
South Surfside in Port Hueneme is close enough to the water that rust and salt air are a real factor on older cars. I got a call about a 1999 Chrysler Cirrus parked in a driveway there.
The owner had snapped a key off in the door lock. The car had been sitting for a while and the key was already brittle from age. He still had the ignition key, which was bent and worn to the point where it was catching on every turn.
I pulled the broken piece from the door lock first. Then I decoded the lock cylinder to get the bitting right and cut a new blade to match. The worn ignition key told a slightly different story when I compared the two, which usually means years of jiggling had rounded down some of the cuts. I went off the door decode, which was the cleaner read.
New key, both locks, worked the first try. He shook his head and said he had been putting it off because he figured it would mean a tow and a dealership visit. It didn't. I was in and out of that driveway in under half an hour.
