2015 GMC Yukon
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2015 GMC Yukon Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked at the medical plaza near Hueneme Beach when she walked out and leaned against the Yukon with that particular look, the one that means something already went wrong before I got there.

She told me she'd verified my license with the state before she called. Her last mobile locksmith left no company name on the receipt, the phone number was dead a week later, and the key he made stopped working inside a month. She just wanted a spare this time, nothing dramatic, but she wasn't going to hand over her car to a stranger who couldn't be looked up.

I showed her the license, told her where to find it publicly, and got to work. The job was a spare smart key for a 2015 Yukon with push-button start. I programmed the new fob through the OBD port using professional diagnostic equipment that runs the GM security access sequence and registers the key to the vehicle. Cut the emergency insert blade to match her door lock. Tested every button, walked the door handles, confirmed the start button saw the new fob.

The whole thing took about 45 minutes in the lot. She watched the whole process, which I prefer. No mystery, no guessing, no "trust me it works."

She mentioned the dealer had quoted her significantly more over the phone and wanted to schedule her out three days. She wasn't there to talk about the dealer. She just wanted a key that worked and a receipt with a real name on it.
