It was a Saturday night out in Via Marina, and a couple had parked near the karaoke strip, done with their night, ready to head home. The fob just stopped responding. Doors wouldn't unlock, the push-button start didn't see the key. They figured they'd leave the car and sort it out Monday, which meant leaving a 2016 Azera sitting in a public lot all weekend.

Lock, unlock, the remaining buttons, checked that the push-button start was reading the fob at normal range, and made sure the door handle passive entry was responding the way it should on all sides. Everything came back clean.
They didn't need a new fob, didn't need a tow, didn't need to wait until Monday. They drove home that night. The dealer route would have meant a weekday appointment, a loaner if they were lucky, and a bill that would have made the weekend feel a lot more expensive.
