Got a call from a woman near the Santa Susana Depot Museum in Simi Valley on a Monday. She said her 1998 Tiburon needed a new "smart key" and the dealer told her Thursday at the earliest. She commutes daily. No backup car. Four days without the Hyundai was not happening.

I decoded the lock with a Lishi HY15 pick and decoder, confirmed the cuts, and ran a fresh HY14 blank on my mobile cutter right on the hood. Tested it in the ignition, the driver door, the trunk. Everything turned clean.
She had been quoted for a full key replacement with programming because whoever she talked to at the dealer assumed it was a newer model. The 1998 Tiburon does not need programming. There is no chip to register. It is a cut-and-go key.
The whole job took about fifteen minutes. Monday call, Monday fix. She was back on the road that same afternoon for a fraction of what the dealer was going to charge for a job that did not even need to happen the way they described it.
