2007 Hyundai Tiburon Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A couple in the Poinsettia neighborhood in Ventura called me on a Saturday night around 10pm. They had been at a karaoke bar, came outside, and their 2007 Tiburon wouldn't respond to the key remote. Dead battery in the fob. They figured they would just leave the car and deal with it Monday.
Then one of them searched "Hyundai locksmith" and found me.
I was 12 minutes out. Their remote head key, the three-button style with the ID46 chip inside, had a cracked shell on top of the dead battery. The lock and unlock buttons were mushy and barely clicking. The transponder side still worked, but the remote housing was done.
I swapped the internals into a fresh remote head shell, dropped in a new CR2032, and reprogrammed the remote frequency using my VVDI Key Tool. The whole thing took maybe 20 minutes on the hood of the car under a parking lot light. Key went in, engine started first turn, all three buttons responded clean.
They drove home that night. No tow, no Monday dealer appointment, no leaving a Tiburon in a karaoke bar lot over the weekend. When everything is stocked in the van, a 10pm Saturday call gets the same result as a 10am Tuesday appointment.
