A swing shift electrician over near Fillmore & Western Railway called me late on a weeknight. His only key for the 350z had stopped working that afternoon, and the car was sitting in his driveway doing nothing. Push the key in, turn it, dash lights up, engine cranks, won't catch. The AKL routine walks through the immobilizer handshake, wipes the old key memory, and learns the new CWTWB1U751 fob fresh. Cut the NSN14 blade on site, programmed the 46-chip transponder, synced all four remote buttons.
He stood there watching the whole thing from his porch steps. When I handed him the key and the engine fired clean on the first turn, he just kind of nodded like he couldn't believe that was it. No tow, no dealer appointment, no missed shifts.
Whole thing took maybe 35 minutes in his driveway. Way less than the dealer would have run him, and he didn't lose a single day of work.
