2008 Nissan 350z REMOTE-HEAD-KEY Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
An overnight stocker called me from a taco truck lot near the Fillmore Historical Museum around 11pm. His only key to his 2008 350Z was gone. No spare, no registration on him, and he was about to call a tow just to get the car somewhere safe.
I walked him through it on the phone. Told him to look through the windshield at the base of the glass on the driver's side. He found the VIN. Then I had him check his insurance app for his registration card, and it was right there.
With the VIN I already knew what I was walking into. Z33 generation, NATS5 immobilizer, 46 chip, NSN14 blade profile, CWTWB1U751 remote head key. I prepped the right blank before I left.
Under the parking lot lights I cut the NSN14 blade on site, generated the 46 transponder with my VVDI Key Tool, and registered it through the OBDII port. The all-keys-lost procedure on NATS5 has a timed security countdown, so there was about 20 minutes of standing around while the system cycled. He spent that time telling me about the taco truck's carne asada fries. Fair review, honestly.
He drove home that night. A dealer would have been closed, needed a tow, and taken days to order the part. The VIN is the single most useful piece of info you can give me when you call.
