I drove out. The 350Z Intelligent Key AKL process is more involved than a standard transponder cut-and-program. The NATS5 system on the BCM has to be accessed, old key data cleared, and new fob credentials written before the car will even wake up. I used my ACDP module to pull the immobilizer data as a backup, then ran the AKL procedure through the OBD-II port. His replacement CWTWB1U751 is a 4-button proximity fob: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Cut the emergency insert blade NSN14 on site, tested proximity detection at all doors, verified push-to-start.
The car fired up at a campground with no cell towers and no dealer for over an hour. The guy just sat in the driver's seat for a second, hands on the wheel, not going anywhere yet. Just relieved.
