2019 Ram 2500 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A young couple had just bought a used 2019 Ram 2500 out of a credit union lot in Ojai. Good truck, solid deal, one key. They called the Ram dealer the same afternoon and got a number that made them both go quiet for a second.
They had just stretched everything on the down payment and first insurance payment. A dealer key bill on top of that, the same week, was not the plan.
They found me online and asked if the dealer quote was real. I told them it was. Dealers carry the overhead they carry, and that lands somewhere. I told them I could do it for a fraction of what they were quoted, same fob, same programming, same result.
I met them in the credit union parking lot before they even drove the truck home for the first time. We stood there in the afternoon while I worked next to the Ram. Cut the blade to their truck, programmed the new fob through the diagnostic port, tested every button, tested passive entry on both front doors, and handed them two working keys.
The spare is the part that matters long-term. If they lose one down the road, it is an add-a-key job. That is faster and simpler than starting from zero with no working fob at all.
They drove home with a backup key and kept a good chunk of what the dealer wanted.
