Grant Park job last week, guy with a work 2500 had his only key go swimming in a coffee cup. The 68710036AA fob was dead, wouldn't even click.
He'd already called the Ram dealer. They wanted the truck towed in, said something about needing to order the key, maybe three days. His crew was supposed to haul equipment to Oxnard the next morning.
I showed up with the right fob blank and my Autel IM608 Pro. These new Rams need the Security Gateway Module bypassed before anything happens. Plugged into the OBD port under the dash, connected through the SGW, pulled his RF Hub data. The truck's computer showed his drowned key's ID still registered.
Programming took about 25 minutes. The new fob has to cycle through a specific sequence: register the transponder, add the remote functions, then verify through the RF Hub. You know it worked when the truck gives you the double horn chirp.
We tested all three buttons, made sure the passive entry worked on both doors, verified push-to-start. His old coffee-soaked key was officially deleted from the system.
He made it to Oxnard. Saved himself a tow and whatever the dealer wanted to charge.
