Over in the Los Robles Trail area of Thousand Oaks, a Celica owner called about a fob that was falling apart. The plastic shell on her BAB237131-056 had split along the seam, the rubber button pad was worn through to the circuit board, and she was holding the whole thing together with a hair tie.

I moved everything into the new shell, dropped in the battery, and used my TOY43AT Lishi to decode her driver's door and verify the blade hadn't worn down past the wafer read points. Blade was still within spec, so no recut needed.
Tested lock, unlock, panic from 20 feet. Started the car twice to confirm the immobilizer handshake with the 4C chip. All clean.
She got a working key and remote back for a fraction of what the dealer wanted, and the parts that actually cost money, the chip and the board, never needed replacing at all.
