2005 Toyota Celica Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
North Ventura, parking lot off Telephone Road. A woman flagged me down after finding my number online. Her 2005 Celica remote had stopped working, and somewhere in the process of troubleshooting it herself, she had lost her only programmed key. Not just the fob. The key itself.
She had already called the dealer. They told her the car needed to be towed in because without a working key they could not move it into the service bay themselves, and then parts and labor on top of the tow. She was looking at a significant wait time on top of everything else.
I pulled up in the service van with the key blank and the programming equipment. The Celica uses a blade that gets cut to the vehicle, and the transponder inside the key head gets registered through the OBD port. I decoded the cut from the lock, got the blank cut, then ran the programming sequence. The remote on these is a separate unit with its own pairing procedure, independent from the ignition key. So I handled both.
Total time at the car was under forty minutes. She drove out of that lot the same afternoon. The dealer visit would have started with a tow truck and ended sometime the following week.
