Over in the Ventura Promenade area, a vet assistant finishing a late shift at the clinic walked to the employee lot around 10pm and her flip key wouldn't turn in the ignition. The key buttons worked. Doors locked and unlocked. But the blade went in and just stopped dead.

The HU66 cylinder had a jammed wafer. Common on these Touaregs when the original blade wears down and the wafer stops returning to neutral. I freed the stuck wafer, cleaned the internals, then decoded the full lock and cut a fresh HU66 blade to replace her worn original. Swapped it into the KR55WK45022 flip shell, tested the transponder read, and ran every button: lock, unlock, trunk.
She drove home within 40 minutes of my arrival. The dealer was closed and wouldn't have had a slot for days anyway. She didn't have to leave her Touareg sitting in a dark parking lot overnight, and the whole thing cost a fraction of what the dealer would have charged once they finally got around to it.
