A driving school owner up in the Woodranch community in Simi Valley called me about three VW training cars, one of them his 2014 Touareg. His instructors had been shuffling keys between vehicles for months and nobody could keep track of which key went to which car. The VW dealer wanted each vehicle brought in separately, one appointment per car, and quoted him a per-key price that made the whole idea painful.
I drove to his lot one morning and worked all three back to back.
The Touareg was the tricky one. The 7P platform runs the Megamos 48 CAN immobilizer, and you have to go through the IMMO IV/V adaptation via OBD on pin 1/9 with the right seed-key login or it locks you out. I generated fresh ID48 CAN transponder data with my VVDI Key Tool, cut the HU162T blade on my Condor, and programmed the NBG010180T through the diagnostic port. All four buttons, lock, unlock, trunk, panic, tested clean. Remote range checked from 30 feet out.
His Touareg was done in about 25 minutes. The other two VWs went faster because they were simpler platforms.
Three cars, three keys, one visit, done before his first student showed up. He labeled each key by VIN and the instructor shuffle stopped that morning. The whole set cost him a fraction of what the dealer wanted for just one.
